On the far eastern tip of the Isle of Wight, lays the quaint and picturesque town of Bembridge. If you venture just off the main high street you will find The Spinnaker, a beautifully restored Edwardian hotel. It holds Fourteen en-suit rooms, a bar and restaurant, and plays host to many types of functions, including conferences, wakes and of course weddings! Myself and around a dozen other businesses turned up for the first wedding fayre the Spinnaker put on. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and the team have done a really great job at doing the building up. If you are looking for a venue on the Isle of Wight to have your Wedding, Reception and a comfy bed to sleep in, be sure to check it out. Due to the small amount of exhibitors all in the one main function room and a marquee just off the room, it made for a small intimate affair. Really easy to get chatting with couples and indeed other exhibitors, all and all a rather enjoyable Saturday. I was asked by the Spinnaker to take some photos of the event, including the fashion show that was in the marquee put on by Gem's Bridal Wear. A new edition to the wonderful Events Co. family is the rather beautiful drawings of Katy Rose. I had seen her work previously at The Wight Bridal Wedding Show at the beginning of the month and fell in love. If you need invites, order of services etc. I urge you to get in touch! I found myself next to The lovely and talented Theresa Ellis, a harpist and folk musician. How often do you find yourself next to a harpist at work? Also, how often do you find yourself listening to various Abba tunes being played on the flute during quiet spells? Thank you Siobhan Cosgrove! Bartletts Farm Flowers also had button holes made out of edible flowers. I've never seen something like that before! I guess edible flowers are quite trendy in the culinary world right now, so this could make it a lot easier to have the same flowers right through the wedding. The ever wonderful Karen of Dornellie was also there. The only reason I can think of as to why I didn't get many photos of her stall was that every time I went over I ended up chatting to her too much and forgot to take photos! I think it's almost a crime to do a Bridal Fair and not have a go in the photo booth, always a good laugh - Look in the slideshow to see our photos. (Thanks Robert Longford!) Proper Vintage IOW did a fantastic job at decorating the little courtyard outside and the Marquee (where the Gem's Bridal Wear fashion show took place) It all looked like something you'd see on Pinterest or a amazing Wedding blog, nice one guys! The Fashion show itself was put on by Gem's Bridal Wear, the models were supplied by Island People Agency and their make up was by Lisa of A brush with Beauty. With all this wedding and business goodness, along with lots of free coffee I received for being an exhibitor, I was a very happy little bean! It's rare for me at such events to get a chance to take as many photos and chat to exhibitors as much as I managed to, which resulted in this blog post! If you enjoyed this, let me know and I'll try and do some more posts like this :) Love & stuff! xo.

"Holly is a fantastic and unique photographer. We met her at a bridal fair 18 months before our wedding and was drawn to her by her easy going personality and friendliness. From that day forward, she was a gem to work with. Helping us with what may look good and when it come to the day it was if she wasn't even there at times. She took loads of amazing photos without being intrusive. Holly has now presented us with our USB stick loaded with great pictures in a cute little box. We would very highly recommend holly due to her professionalism and easy going personality." - Mr. & Mrs. West
Starting with an hour of golf with the lads and finishing with a first dance to Adele's "Make you feel my love" - Nikki & Dan's Wedding was a complete success! I've never started a wedding day with a round of golf, (or any day for that matter!) but that's what I love about weddings - they are all so different and no two are ever the same - Keeps me on my toes! The ceremony and reception took place at Ryde Castle, which can be a bit of a challenge lighting wise in the main room but I think I managed to get some good results regardless. It was a lovely day with lovely people, congratulations you two! I can't wait to get you both and little Izzy in the studio in the new year! Above is a slideshow of a small selection of photos I got of the day. Below are some snaps of Nikki & Dan's custom USB box (available in an all day wedding package from yours truly!) and soon I'll get onto making the photo book (also included in an all day package) Love & stuff xo. "We discovered Holly at a bridal fair, we were both drawn to her friendly smile and down to earth attitude. After chatting we noticed her fantastic pictures and the brilliant way she presents them after the event. We had an amazing wedding day and Holly has captured every aspect of it. She was never intrusive and yet she has captured perfect images throughout; be it the pre planned schedule, or the on the fly pictures of those amazing moments you might have missed yourself! Holly has now presented us with our photos, we love the usb stick and the presentation box it comes in and are proud to display it and all the hundreds of superb photos she has taken." - Mr. and Mrs. Blair
So the 26th September came around and after months and months of planning, I photographed Phil & Gemma's Wedding! They decided to have the free option of an engagement shoot, which is always great to get people used to the whole camera in your face thing. It was a great relaxed day with lovely people. A very traditional ceremony at St. David's Church (East Cowes) and reception at the beautiful and historic Albert Cottage. I even got a thank you present that I absolutely adore - Thank you Mr and Mrs Blair! Above is a slideshow of a small selection of photos from the day. Below are some snaps of their custom USB box (available in an all day wedding package from yours truly!) and I'll soon get onto making the photo book (also included in an all day wedding package) - Photos to come soon I'm sure! Love and stuff xo. |
