I got married, I went to Las Vegas, I photographed at five weddings that weren't my own. I started doing Little People Weeks, I photographed puppies, families, products, babies, cowboys and lots more. Twenty fifteen has been one hell of a year for me and twenty sixteen is looking to be even busier! I've already been booked to photograph eleven weddings next year! (I'm also booked for a twenty seventeen wedding already - Some people are extremely organised!) My hard work looks like it's starting to really pay off and the amount of work coming in is really starting to take momentum. No rest for the wicked though, thankfully! It is a job I enjoy enormously after all.
I want to thank each and every one of you that have hired me for work, worked with me on projects, given me amazing feedback, interacted with me in person and on social media as well. It means more than I could ever say. This is the one job I want and need to do, and all these things make this twenty four year old nerd stupidly happy! I had a very well needed quiet and relaxing Christmas with my Husband and dog (Scampi) this year. My parents came over for Christmas dinner for the first time and spent the afternoon with us. I did a fair bit of baking in the lead up to Christmas, two batches of mince pies and gingerbread, along with a lemon meringue for Christmas dinner. Baking is oddly relaxing, I can slightly understand why people are addicted to The Great British Bake Off. Although I find the concept of crying about lost butter or over an exploding cheesecake less comprehensible.. has a cheesecake exploded yet?! I don't know I've only seen about four episodes a while back... Whatever you got up to, I hope you enjoyed it. I also hope you have a safe and happy new years, see you in twenty sixteen! Love and stuff xo. P.S. If you got engaged over Christmas and want to go to a Wedding Fair to kick start your planning, come see me and many other Isle of Wight Wedding suppliers on January 24th at Medina Leisure centre in Newport - More info can be found here.

So it's almost the end of 2015 and I managed to squeeze in one more Little People Week before it was over. It's a lovely thing when you have an idea that gets peoples attention and gives you a lot of positive feedback. The very first Little People week all started with me thinking I should up my game when it comes to my little guys, as I hadn't been working with them as much as I would like to be. This way it made me shoot at least seven new photos, and also make an event of releasing them onto the interwebs rather than slipping them onto the Facebook page where they might go potentially unnoticed. This time was tough as the weather this time of year isn't great. So I either had to take my chances in the great outdoors, or get inventive in the comfort of my own home by trying to make all the photos look different and each one interesting. I even had a go at modifying my first little dude this time round too. For those who know me know I'm not a confident painter and so I usually give them to my friend Rachael Berry to do, as she is far more proficient with painting than I ever could be! But this time I fancied giving it a go myself (images below) . After seeing an image on Instagram of a road that had a very shallow depth of field that highlighted the tarmac and the yellow lines, the idea of adding Dorothy and Toto sprung into my head. I actually quite enjoyed painting her and her hairy companion! I want to thank everyone who has followed the event, given likes and comments, and even the people who have said lovely things to me in person! There's a new thing I'm dying to try out with my Little People and when I can do it right I think they will get even more love than they already do. So look out for my Little People of 2016 - I'm far from out of ideas and they are ready for more adventures! Love & Stuff xo. |
