FAQs

Q: Are you happy to travel to our wedding?

A: I'm trying to play it cool right now, but the answer is a big fat YES. I absolutely love to travel. If you would like me to come to photograph your wedding I'll be there, anywhere in England, the UK, and abroad. I only ask for minimal charges to purely cover travel expenses.

Q: What does “full day coverage” mean?

A: Every wedding day is different. If you need me to start at 8:30 in the morning, I’m there. If you are planning to have fireworks near the end of the night and want me to be there, I’ve got your back. I have nowhere else to be that day and no other jobs to go to, my day is your day. I do ask for us to come up with a “start” and “finish” time for me though, so there’s no confusion about when I’m turning up and leaving.

Q: We really aren't comfortable being in front of the camera, is this a problem?

A: Far from it, in fact take it from me it's a lot more common that you might think. For the majority of the day, minus couples photos and a few group photos, capturing real moments is what I do. Many of my past couples and guests very often say that after a while they don't even realise that I'm there most of the time. Despite the fact I have a camera I blend right in and let your day unfold as naturally as poss.

Q: How would you describe your style of photography?

A: If I had to pick three words to describe it, I would say “candid”, "colourful" and "fun" .

Most of the time I like to capture people as they are and an event as it really happened, so usually I am not too involved with what’s going on and trying to manipulate it. I take a step back most of the time to let things unfold naturally, don't get me wrong I'm not antisocial I love a good chat and I will with pretty much anyone, so I won't be a scary odd person who is stern and just watching things unfold. Every now and then I will step in and give direction and suggestions, but I am definitely not a control freak or someone who likes to pose people very much.

Q: Do we need to do family and group photos?

A:
I'm going to be really honest, they're probably my least favourite photos to do, and most people aren't big fans of them either, but I always highly recommend doing a few group photos that are important to you. They guarantee that you get photos with the people who you definitely want to be photographed with. Also without sounding too morbid, as the years go by and people are sadly no longer here you’ll be glad you took some time out to get those photos.

Q: We're sold! How do we book you?

A: Firstly, thank you very much for that and for choosing to work with me. I'm not joking when I say it's an honour every time a couple chooses me to photograph their wedding! You've made a little photo nerd very happy. I ask for a 15% non-refundable booking fee, which secures your wedding date in my diary. For the remaining balance, all I ask is for is that it's paid four weeks before the wedding day at the absolute latest.

Q: How long will it be until we get our edited wedding photos?

A: Wedding season can be at times unbelievably hectic for me and weddings do take a while for me to sort through and edit properly. I always try to get your wedding photos sent to you in a timely fashion, but also not to rush them so they are of the best quality. The longest time I've taken to edit and send a full wedding gallery is 6 weeks. Within 48 hours after your wedding, I’ll edit and send you some ‘preview’ photos so you can download and share some professional snaps of your day.

Q: How many edited photos do we get?

A: For a full day wedding shoot, I give my couples an average of 700 colour edited photos. That doesn't include the black and white edits I also do. If a photo doesn't work in black and white then I don't do a black and white edit.

Q: Can we, our family and friends order prints of our wedding photos from you?

A: Absolutely! On the online photo gallery, you, your family and you friends will be able to look at the photos and also order prints too. All you need to do is give them the web address and the password to access the gallery, which I will give to you as soon as I get it set up, and it'll be live online for 12 months after that. I only give out the gallery password to you both, who else gets the password is up to you.

Q: Are you insured?

A: You bet! I have public liability, professional indemnity and all my camera gear is insured.

Q: Do we need to have an Engagement shoot?

A: Honestly the answer is no. However, so many of my wedding couples have said that they are so glad they had one done, and that having one was a great way to get comfortable and confident being photographed before their wedding day. They also really help with nerves when the big day comes around, particularly if you or your partner are camera shy.
