This family shoot believe it or not actually happened in the summer of 2023.

I know, it really doesn't look like it, and this was definitely a day I also took an umbrella with me incase we were unlucky, but we were it turns out lucky, and the most we had to deal with was a sky full of grey clouds.

This photo shoot was all the lovely Sally's idea, and it was fair to say everyone (even their dog) was feeling pretty camera shy. But we got walking around the beach area, chatting, being silly, Sally even got silly enough that she felt the need to go for a paddle! Sally was adamant that because she was at the beach, she wanted to dip her feet in the sea. Unfortunately the sea had other ideas and she got I think a little wetter than she planned, which we both had a good laugh about.

Know where you were on the hottest day of 2023 (which was in September of all months)?

​I do! I was photographing these two teenage sweethearts wedding day 😁 

But first, here's few snaps from Shannon & Ryan’s engagement shoot back in July at Firestone Copse. We had so many random conversations where had on this shoot as we walked around, and I knew their wedding was going to be fun!

Accompanied by their gorgeous rescue dog Sasha, and their nearest and dearest, these two made their vows at @eastaftonfarmhouse / eastaftonfarmhouse, vows that they had written on vinyls  🤘
 
These two made sure their guest were taken care of with a wall of Quavers, Nik Naks and Space Raiders to greet them after the ceremony, along with Sour Shots and Biscuits, they were a big hit!
 
After dinner and potentially the shortest speeches EVER, evening guests arrived for a doughnut wall provided by @wedandprosperuk / wedandprosperuk, cake and dancing to @fusionparty / Fusionpartybanduk – excellent!

​The lovely Wendy unfortunately has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and she wanted to do a fun photo shoot with her equally lovely son, to document the two of them together on their favourite beach.

​Pictures are more important than we often think.

​To say this shoot was an honour for me would be an understatement ♥️♥️
​

​Once upon a time, a Saturday in June to be exact, a Ravenclaw and a Hufflepuff got married. No seriously these two met playing quidditch at Oxford 🏰🪄🧹 
 
Before the ceremony at The Garlic Farm that was officiated fantastically by their friend Bex, they had a first look and exchanged their personalised wedding vows in private. There was also time for a go on the swing and a trip to see the chickens before the ceremony, and of course a tractor ride round the farm after the ceremony.
 
The band ‘The Chaulkheads’ played after dinner and did a fabulous job of getting EVERYONE up dancing, I’m not sure I’ve seen so many people on “the dance floor” at a wedding for a long time, so if you’re looking for something a little different this might be the thing for you.
 
It also reminded me of my lovely grandad who played in an Irish folk band. They played so many songs I remember listening to when I was young watching my grandad play in many a pub.

​Waaaay back in 2021, Lauren & Dom went with me to Parkhurst Forest for their engagement shoot.

Fast forward to 2023 and it's Lauren & Dom’s wedding! Theirs is the first one where I turn up and both the bride and groom are ready... at 9am! So I knew this day was going to be a little different.
 
We went and did their couples photos before the ceremony, and before we went off for a wonder around Ventnor, Lauren gave Dom a Scrapbook that took her 4 years to make, that had the whole story of their relationship so far, and of course there were a few tears while reading it, which as a candid photographer made me happy 😏 😇
 
This was my first wedding at both St Boniface Old Church, Bonchurch and Commodores House – I highly recommend both! I mean how many reception venues can you do an entrance by boat?
 
Before the speeches I had a quiet moment to myself, realising this was my last wedding for the first decade of my business, the sun shining off the Solent, blue skies and clouds racing by, and I realised there is no place than Cowes I would have rather been for that. It’s my old stomping ground and where I grew up. 👌

The lovely copywriter Tiffany Bown contacted me last summer (after hiring me for her parents anniversary celebrations on a previous occasion), asking if I was available and up for doing some branding photos for her snazzy new website, and also a few headshots because while they can be cringy for the subject let's be honest, they are a very handy thing to have and can be used not only for your website but for so many other things too, plus they are not the easiest thing to do yourself.

Luckily I was available and definitely up for doing it!

The colour scheme of Tiffany's website is very her, and so I think the photos worked with the website extremely well, and I'm so happy to see that she used a load of photos from our shoot to fill her website, always a proud moment for any photographer - Thank you Tiffany!

Plus it’s even more special if there’s a new addition. Here’s a few from a family shoot I did earlier this year with Mallory & Peter (and gorgeous little Penny), who I’d previously worked with WAY back in 2017 when Peter proposed, picture from back then below:

​What a very special day this was! This beautiful couple got married on a gorgeous sunny day in May in Blackheath.
 
Jacks sister Bryony Lloyd sang at the ceremony and then again at the reception after dinner, and both times it made everyone cry it was so beautiful.
 
Being in London it felt so right to get to the ceremony and back on a red bus with London Retro Bus Hire, and on the way back everyone shared bottles of champers and bags of crisps 🍾
 
The Everest Inn is Annie & Jack’s favourite restaurant, and whatever the special occasion it’s there that they celebrate, so to have their wedding reception there made complete sense, plus the food really was delicious!
 
Annie made all the cupcakes at their evening reception, and I had to include a photo because they were so good and there was so many of them! Oh and their “First dance” was the two of them playing a game of beer pong, brilliant!
