Have you ever just wanted to go away to a place that feels like the middle of nowhere? Stay in a cottage with a real fire and barely any phone signal, lots of nature all around you so you can really unwind? Pete, Scampi and I did and it was pretty sweet. Dolydd Cottage where we stayed is a beautiful cottage in a great location, I easily could have stayed for longer/forever, and we were also we were welcomed with a plate of welsh cakes which were delicious! The owners were so friendly, one morning they offered us carrots to feed the animals on the farm before we whizzed off for a day out. Totally unexpected but so enjoyable, I mean who doesn't want to do that?! I swear the music and scene were the beacons are lit in the Lord of the Rings went round and round in my head pretty much the whole time we were driving around in Wales, particularly the day we went to walk up Snowdon, there were so many parts of it that looked like it was a part of Middle Earth or the world of Game of Thrones... I’m not usually one for taking landscape shots, but I actually couldn’t help myself walking on Snowdonia, so it probably make our walk twice as long but never mind! Thanks Pete for taking this photo of me and my little sidekick 🐶 The Jacuzzi Air-bath at the cottage was gorgeous and we used it every night and we loved using the log burner. We paid a little extra for a food basket with eggs from the main farm, bacon, bread and other yummy breakfast bits, and Pete cooked us a lush cooked breakfast with the goodies from our basket. On our last day it annoyingly decided to be really rainy and miserable, so we decided to make a random trip to the Ffestiong & Welsh Heighland Railway. ...Scampi was making friends waiting for the train! Note to future self: If the long winter really start to get you down, pack up the car, drive to a new beautiful place with your little family, unplug from electronic devices as much as possible and get out into the world. Although if you go somewhere notoriously as rainy as Wales, be thankful the TV where you're staying is connected to Netflix as well. Holly
