I received an email a few weeks ago from a very nervous but excited Peter, asking if I was interested in photographing the moment he proposed to his girlfriend Mallory. My answer was an absolute "Hell yes!". Peter picked an absolutely beautiful spot to propose to Mallory, which was only accessible by foot, so he had given me google maps screen shots with directions so I could find the place. Next to the entrance of the footpath was the house he had grown up in, so he and his family had gone on many walks along this beautiful coastal path near Blackgang over the years. So there I was one Friday morning, walking through big fields full of cows with my Husband Pete and my dog Scampi. I thought I'd look much less suspicious if they were with me and we'd just look like we were out on a walk, and so hopefully she didn't twig what was going to happen, which she didn't. In fact Mallory didn't even realise I was there until I went over to introduce myself and to congratulate the newly engaged couple - Success! Just as I arrived the pair had been sitting on a bench nearby with a plaque on the back of it. Apparently on the 22nd March 2009, Mat & Gemma decided to marry when they had been sat on the same bench. It's such a beautiful spot so I don't think they'll be the last. Congratulations again you two and thank you so much for letting me capture such a special moment for you both. I was more than a pleasure and I had to remind myself that this is actually my job!
