This fantastic day started off at The Terrace Rooms & Wine where everyone was getting ready, such a beautiful venue, and I always love when everyone is getting ready in one place, great for photos! Then on to Ventnor Botanic Garden for an outdoor ceremony, perfect weather for it that day 👌
 
There was a GREAT quiz after the speeches (that were all great too), which included people making and throwing paper aeroplanes, working out how many Thomas & Rebecca’s it would take to make up the width of the Isle of Wight, and deciphering a sentence that a lovely guest who has a very strong Irish accent said in an audio round 😂👍 
 
Straight after the cutting of the wedding cake, there were staff on hand to continue cutting and handing out cake to all the guests, which I thought was a great touch!
 
Rebecca & Thomas, you are such a beautiful couple inside and out and it was a pleasure to photograph your wedding, thank you! ♥️

Every time I look back at Harriet & Adan’s wedding photos I smile! Their wedding was so great, full of great people and great moments 😁



I also feel the same about their Engagement photos, despite the sunny looking photos probably heightened by the sunnies, it was not as warm that April day as it looks, but we had a blast anyway 🙌  and the Sun showed up on their wedding day too...

Simple elegant and joyful are 3 words I could easily use to sum up Matthew & Jocelyn’s wedding last summer ☀️ 
 
The amount of banter and laughing in the morning at East Afton Farmhouse when the ladies were getting ready was off the scale 😂 and if awards were handed out for Spotify playlists being totally banging Joss would get one (…totally said off my own back 👀), along with a delicious vegan breakfast provided by Gastronomy.
 
In fact all of the suppliers were fantastic as always from this bunch, and put on a great wedding. Apart from providing a bouncy castle (unsurprisingly!) there was also arcade games provided by Isle of Wight bouncy castles, that I could quite easily have spent a lot of time playing Sonic the Hedgehog on if I didn’t have work to do!
 
Matthew & Jocelyn did their day their way, and it is something that I always love to see people do for their wedding day. Thank you both for asking Lana and I to photograph your day ♥️

A wasp in the wedding dress and a lady bird in the bouquet - is that a new lucky wedding combination? 🍀 
 
Maybe it meant that the rain avoided us for Ashleen & Șerban’s wedding at The Apple Farm (those clouds were very grey in the morning!). Music from Lord Of The Rings played for the signing of the register under the canopy as the sun started to come out, and this was just one of many moments on this day that made me smile.
 
Șerban’s family had come over from Romania for the wedding, and it was so great to hear a dual language wedding again, although I do always feel a bit sorry for that one guest who ends up having to translate A LOT through the day.
 
There were some lovely thoughtful family touches through the wedding, as family was clearly very important to these two, including Hydrangeas from Ashleen’s Great Nan’s garden and also duck ornaments as a tribute to her on the table with the wedding cake, and a beautiful first dance with her Dad, which ended up including her Mum and eventually Ashleen’s two sisters as well 😭

So on a glorious sunny July weekend, James and Katie got married at the Ventnor Botanic Garden and it was such a joy to photograph their wedding day ☀️
 
Morning bridal prep which also features dogs gets a big yes from me, and there was so much colour and fun throughout this day that I smiled so much all day long! James & Katie both looked fantastic, and OMG I loved James’ suit with his pocket style buttonhole – can these be more of a thing please?! 🌸
 
The dancing in the evening was also fantastic, (the band was their band friends from college which I loved! Such a great touch) including a pretty epic spin where James unexpectedly picked Katie up and also the evening included a dance off with their parents.

All 2024 weddings, along with other shoots for the year, was just over 50,000 edited photos in total for me.

Firstly and most importantly:
​Thank you so much to all my couples and clients in 2024. You all bloody rock! ♥️ I am a very lucky lady. Every single time someone books me to be their wedding photographer, I thank them and say that it’s an honour, and I really mean it! I know people don’t have to work with me and the fact they do and that they trust me to document their wedding day is not something I ever take for granted.


The September of that year also marked 11 years that I’d been a full-time freelance photographer.

141 weddings at that point. More family shoots and other projects than I can honestly count across all my hard drives. More grey hairs earned in the last 11 years than I want to count too! More gratitude than I could ever say or write in a blog post. And even more of all this to come!
